ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
csi develops electronic vehicle systems for control units, on-board electrical systems, battery management and high-voltage technology – from the initial system definition to hardware and software development to final validation. In doing so, we bundle a wide range of competencies from system modeling and requirements management to cable harness development and modern connectivity solutions and cover the entire development process, from concept to series production.
We systematically collect, structure and manage technical requirements – including requirement and functional specifications, change management and complete traceability across all project phases. The basis is ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, an international standard for system development. In doing so, we integrate seamlessly into our customers' tool landscape and work with systems such as IBM Doors NG, Polarion, Enterprise Architect or Cameo.
We develop tailor-made test concepts – from virtual test environments (software and hardware in the loop) to real test vehicles. With the help of established tools such as Vector CANoe, CANape, Matlab and Simulink, we carry out detailed error analyses and derive clear release recommendations.
We develop and test battery housings, battery management systems and high-voltage systems for electric vehicles. Together with partners such as Mubea, we develop cold plates for high-voltage battery systems, for example.
We develop wiring system architectures and network control units, sensors and vehicle systems – both internally and beyond vehicle boundaries. For electrologic and cable harness development, we are proficient in highly specialized tools such as EPLAN Electric P8, Harness proD, CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX and Engineering Base as well as standards such as AUTOSAR. In doing so, we select application-specific communication protocols and implement them for reliable data transmission in the entire vehicle.
We develop according to recognized industry standards such as ASPICE and take functional safety into account in accordance with ISO 26262 in early project phases. We also use specialized tools such as Altium Designer, LT-Spice or P-Spice in hardware development. This gives our customers the certainty that the systems developed meet the requirements of the automotive industry.
From market analysis and supplier selection to technical integration and series production support – we ensure that electronic hardware and software components fit seamlessly into the overall system and the complex E/E architecture and do not jeopardize the project goals.
