3D-Measuring-Technology
With a detailed view of the whole
Top performance through high speed
For our 3D scans and measurements, we use the powerful GOM ATOS 5 system from ZEISS at our csi site in Weissach to measure high-voltage batteries for one of our most important automotive customers. The new GOM ATOS 5 system delivers non-contact and material-independent super-fast, precise results and is currently state of the art when it comes to industrial measurement.
Scanning and measuring high-gloss, reflective, transparent or dark surfaces is no longer a problem for our team. Thanks to enlarged measuring fields, scans and measurements may not quite run at the speed of light, but they are still twice as fast as with older systems - even when entire car bodies are involved. Developers and designers can determine faster than ever before whether there are deviations, errors or defects in individual components or complex assemblies.
At the same time, the GOM Inspect Pro Software can also be used to calculate digital twins for inspection, adaptive manufacturing, simulation or reverse engineering. This allows us to create detailed 3D models or generate closed surfaces that can be further processed in Catia, for example. This also speeds up development and production processes and pays off for everyone involved.

Precision to go
As ATOS 5 - just like our measurement team - has the necessary flexibility and mobility, it could also be used in your company. There are only advantages.
- Non-contact surface scans of all materials
- Comparison of components with CAD data or other components
- Measurements of prototypes, individual or series parts
- Hand-guided scans
ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The non-contact scanning process works for all materials. The system is ideally suited for flexible measurement from early prototypes to individual pieces and series parts.
Yes, our measurement team has the necessary flexibility and mobile 3D metrology. The mobile ATOS 5 scanning system enables us to carry out the scans flexibly and directly in your company.
For maximum precision, we use the GOM ATOS 5 scan system. This system enables flexible, handheld scans and captures surfaces in a completely contactless manner.
With the GOM Inspect Pro software, we calculate digital twins for inspection, adaptive manufacturing and simulation. In addition, we create detailed 3D models or create closed surfaces by reverse engineering, which can be processed directly in programs such as Catia.
More about Digital Engineering
Developers and designers can use modern 3D measurement techniques to determine faster than ever before whether there are deviations, errors or defects in individual components or complex assemblies. This massively accelerates both development and production processes.
For quality assurance, we carry out high-precision target/actual comparisons. The real scanned components or modules are precisely compared with the underlying CAD data or other components in order to detect tolerance deviations immediately and reliably.
