H2 - On the path to ZERO EMISSION

DRIVE OF THE FUTURE?

Hydrogen is becoming increasingly important in an ideal world with zero emissions. As a partner for the mobility of the future, the subject of hydrogen has long been present at csi.

One of our hydrogen projects is the cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). DLR uses hydrogen to drive its rockets and would like to operate its location in Lampoldshausen, with more than 200 employees, carbon-free as soon as possible.

An important milestone towards this goal was laid this week!

The Minister for the Economy, Employment and Housing in the state of Baden-Wurttemburg, Dr Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, granted an allocation of around 16 million euros to the DLR at the Lampoldshausen location on 9th July 2020. The kick-off event for the project took place directly afterwards.

The DLR processes scenarios for the wide use of hydrogen in an energy-intensive industrial location in the project “Zero emissions - hydrogen location Lampoldshausen“. “Zero emission“ is organised into three areas. One of these is a “carbon-neutral location“.

Together with DLR, we are making a contribution to the reduction of emissions in mobility. The challenge here is presented by the hydrogen infrastructure for green hydrogen. Together with DLR in Lampoldshausen, the DLR Institute of Vehicle Designs and the DLR Institute of Networked Energy Systems, a sustainable design is being developed and tested in real-world conditions.
